Mozambique Canada Maternal Health Project

Denise is currently Strategic Advisor to the Mozambique Canada Health Project, whose goal is to improve maternal health in the province of Inhambane, Mozambique. A five-year project that began in April 2017 and is funded by Global Affairs Canada, the project is a partnership between the Inhambane Provincial Health Directorate and the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, which is the implementing agency.
In 2013, Kouri Research prepared a community food assessment for Saskatoon to report on the potential for a regional food strategy, and to provide recommendations and an action plan. The strategy included social, economic and ethical aspects of food production and consumption. The process required both research and community engagement. Full report; Highlights; Recommendations

Training for Health Renewal Program |
Denise Kouri was Program Manager (2013-2014) and advisor/consultant (1999-2012) for this 15-year international cooperation project between the University of Saskatchewan and Mozambique. The work included program implementation, proposal development, financial management, evaluation, as well as liaison with Mozambique health structures and communities, working in Portuguese.
